Promote Affiliate Offers With Your Blog

Using your blog is a great start for promoting your affiliate offers because you already have a good standing with your readers. If you have a successful blog that attracts the attention of a lot of readers then, more than likely, they already trust and respect your opinion. This is a good thing because getting people to purchase products through your affiliate link is now that much easier.
Before you start promoting these products, here are a few tips to help you get higher conversions:
1. Your content is most important
Your content is what brought your readers to you in the first place, but now that you are endorsing a product you need to provide quality content based on the product. Some people will just put up their affiliate link on their site and hope others will click the link but you will get a higher response if you provide information about the product. They already trust your opinion so this is a good time to tell them why you recommend this product and how amazing it is. You might even want to list the Pro’s and Con’s. Yes I said Con’s too. Listing some of the disadvantages of the product gives the reader a feel of you being honest with them.
2. Don’t get money hungry
Your readers don’t want to constantly read a “pitch fest” so don’t continue to shove it down their throat. Learn good copyrighting skills and develop the quality to casually slip in a mention of your product here and there. You want to use your ability to drop a hint about your product in a non sale, non hype way. For instance, if you were promoting an Ebook on gardening (titled “Flower Passion”) then you might write a post on how you spent your weekend planting these rare African flowers and how beautiful they are. I really don’t know a thing about planting flowers but “Flower Passion” was simple and easy to follow. My only problem is now my wife wants me to line the entire driveway with these things.
3. Know your readers
Your offers have to stay relevant to the type of readers you have or attract. If your blog is geared toward sports then you probably won’t make any money promoting DVD’s on dancing. Your readers might primarily be males who would easily buy anything associated with sports memorabilia and the such, but if you through in something way off beat then you’ll be lucky to make one sale from it.
4. Don’t overwhelm your Blog
Some might think that since they have a high traffic blog then there is nothing wrong with filling it up with a lot of links. Since they are all relevant then it’s obvious that they will bring me a lot more money right? Wrong! People do not want to be overwhelmed with ads all over the place. Even if they enjoy buying products through your blog then they might be easily turned off by a multitude of links and your blog will quickly loose the appeal that it once had.
5. Have Patients
Probably one of the most important aspects of Affiliate Marketing. It takes time to completely learn the in’s and out’s of how to be an effective affiliate marketer so don’t quit. When you’re first starting out then it’s best to constantly tweak your ad performance to see what works best and get people to buy your offer. Give it time and keep working hard.
