Autoresponder Marketing

Email marketing through your Autoresponder is not as popular as it was a year ago. There is much speculation that the use of an Autoresponder in your business isn’t needed as much as it once was because of social media. Many marketers are doing away with their autoresponder and focusing on their conversions through Twitter and other social sites, because building a list is so much faster and easier. On the other hand, others have decided to keep their autoresponder because they still get a lot of conversions from giving stuff away and attracting customers.

Your take on this could go either way, but if you have the time then why not use both and increase your chances.

The purpose of email marketing is to drawl people to your site then get them to opt in to your mailing list by way of your autoresponders opt in form. The most popular way to attract someone to fill in their name and email address usually comes from being offered something valuable for free. As people flood in to your mailing list you can then use a series of pre-written emails that slowly builds a connection & trust with your prospect. The secret behind increasing conversations with your emails relies on your copywriting abilities and the way you can relate to you prospect. Since you don’t have the ability to talk face to face with this person, you have to use your words to build their trust. So lets look at some things that you can do to increase your opt in rate and your conversations.

1. Placement
Studies have been conducted to track how people read ads and the reasons that get someone to take action. One of the studies they found was that our eyes are naturally directed to the top right side of the ad, and by simple placing your opt in form on the top right hand side of the page you can drastically increase your opt in rate.

2. Landing Page (if you’re using one)
A landing page will attract a lot more interested people if you have a good layout. Some landing pages are cluttered with flash, images, or a lot of text, and all these factors will hinder a successful landing page. People do not like to feel confused when they hit your landing page and the easier they know what you want them to do, the better. The best landing pages have 3 simple aspects:

** A video
** A simple opt in form
** A call to action

In this case, you need to provide an informative or content filled video about what you’re offering and you should also tell them to opt in so they can receive your free offer. Next they will divert their eyes to the right of the video where you have your opt in form and they should feel compelled to fill in their name and email address. If they don’t then you need to make sure to provide a call to action button as part of your opt in form that makes them take action (ex: “Send My Free Videos”). You can use what fits your niche best. It also helps to add a big arrow pointing at the call to action button because it directs their attention.

3. Free Stuff

Free-Stuff

This can easily be one of the most important parts because you almost have to bribe them with a sweet enough offer in exchange for their info. There are many different ideas you can use here like:

** Ebooks
** Videos
** Video course
** Audios
** Software trial
** Newsletter

The key is to use your best stuff and give it away. Sticking to digital products, and of course using your own content, is a must because it doesn’t cost you anything to reproduce. The stuff you give away has to have a high perceived value and really feel like they are getting something amazing.

4. Don’t sales pitch them
Once they are on your list then it’s up to you to keep them and not scare them away with constantly sending them “buy my stuff” emails. It’s best to start off sending content filled emails, that pertain to why they opted in, for the first couple of weeks that way they can earn your trust and see your knowledge. Then you can start witting a little more about yourself and maybe make the emails a bit more informal and fun. This will build your likeability with them, almost like a friendship. From here it’s a lot easier to write semi casual emails as if you were their friend, and also include your offer as well.

At this point they know, like, and trust you enough to buy your product or at least respect your opinion. This is the building block to getting outstanding conversations with your autoresponder. Offer really good free stuff, build a relationship, then offer your products.

Good luck out there, I hope you make a lot of money.
